CAPA Showcase 2022

On Wednesday 24th August, the Creative Arts & Performing Arts Faculty proudly hosted our annual Showcase at Cecil Hills High School. It has been 2 long years since we were able to invite staff, students, family and friends to view the incredible hard work of our students from Music, Art, Photography & Dance. We were all blown away by your amazing talents.

You can view more photos from the evening on our Showcase tab above.

Year 8 Street Art students have produced their own stake decks this semester, developing their ideas and designs to create stencils and demonstrating skills learnt in using spray paint.

All students in the class created engaging and innovative designs and a selection of the class’s skate decks will be on display at our CAPA Showcase night on Wednesday 17 th August, Week 5 of Term 3.

Year 9 Dance Performance

YEAR 9 MUSIC

Hey Mum, I’m on the Wireless!!!

In Term 4, Year 9 Music Students have been busy working on sweepers, radio lingo for a promotional advertisement for a show or program, for the popular radio show The Breaky Wrap with Brendan on Kool FM, North Queensland. Brendan hosts the morning drive show and on hearing the students work, agreed to play a few on air. “I was really impressed by the quality of their work” said Brendan. “It was a no brainer that I would play them”.

As a Teacher it was incredibly rewarding to watch student pride as their hard work came over the airwaves, during class on a Monday Morning.

We’d like to say a big Thank you to Kool FM for giving us this rare opportunity.
